‘Cides are designed to kill. Only the so-called “active” ingredients are listed and tested for how well they kill what they are sold to kill. Human, animal and other environmental effects are rarely if ever researched, and then it’s only for the active ingredients. The combinations of ingredients and the so-called “inert” ingredients which make the products flow or apply better are not taken into consideration. Those “inerts” can also be more toxic than the active ingredients, but don’t have to be listed!
Recent research tested and discovered that these combinations can be up to
1000 times more toxic than declared!
Major Pesticides Are More Toxic to Human Cells Than Their Declared Active Principles
Abstract
Pesticides are used throughout the world as mixtures called formulations. They contain adjuvants, which are often kept confidential and are called inerts by the manufacturing companies, plus a declared active principle, which is usually tested alone.
We tested the toxicity of 9 pesticides, comparing active principles and their formulations, on three human cell lines (HepG2, HEK293, and JEG3). Glyphosate, isoproturon, fluroxypyr, pirimicarb, imidacloprid, acetamiprid, tebuconazole, epoxiconazole, and prochloraz constitute, respectively, the active principles of 3 major herbicides, 3 insecticides, and 3 fungicides.
…
Despite its relatively benign reputation, Roundup was among the most toxic herbicides and insecticides tested. Most importantly, 8 formulations out of 9 were up to one thousand times more toxic than their active principles.
…
These toxic chemicals are applied to lawns, patios, parks, forests, farmers fields, virtually everywhere… They are even found in most air samples taken these days. They get tracked into our homes, and absorbed into our foods, our pets, our breast-milk and our brains and bodies…
Those of us who actively try to (and need to) avoid these exposures are unable to, as pesticide drift occurs everywhere. Winds can carry them for miles! One family applying them to their yard and garden can contaminate an entire neighborhood! The molecules do not respect property lines, doorways, windows, or stop at anyone’s nose.
That is toxic trespass.
The list of adverse health effects caused by pesticides is long, and none of us are immune. We just don’t know which exposure will be the one that tips our bodies over the edge and into completely preventable chronic health problems. Many people report that it was a pesticide application that triggered their disabling MCS/ES. Children are particularly vulnerable.
Let’s stop using neuro-toxins, carcinogens and endocrine disruptors to kill grass, dandelions and other things that grow. Let’s move beyond the idea that a carpet of green grass is a status symbol, and that a jug of ‘cides makes a man… The war on weeds is poisoning us all.
A real man cares about the health and well being of his family, pets, and neighbors, as well as the long term safety of the air we breathe and the water we drink. He is not threatened by the appearance of diversity in his garden. Instead of destroying life, he embraces life. He learns how an ecosystem can thrive in harmony. He takes seriously his responsibilities as steward and custodian of the garden that keeps us alive…

Embrace life!
Wow, no wonder I had such trouble with pesticides last summer! Ugh. Thank you for posting! I especially love your last paragraph!
Thanks… Sorry you’ve also been cided… I know so many people whose lives have been absolutely ruined by legally approved pesticides. The toxic chemical based pesticide industry is evil.

More research saying this poison is MUCH worse than what we have been led to believe:
Genotoxicity of mixtures of glyphosate and atrazine and their environmental transformation products before and after photoactivation
Highlights
• The cytogenetic effects of pesticide mixtures were evaluated on CHO cells.
• A 20-fold enhanced activity was observed in mixture with the four pesticides.
• It was 100-fold increased after light-irradiation, through oxidative stress.
• It highlighted the importance of cocktail effects in environmental matrices.
• It showed the limits of usual strategies to estimate environmental risks.
Abstract
The photo-inducible cytogenetic toxicity of glyphosate, atrazine, aminomethyl phosphoric acid (AMPA), desethyl-atrazine (DEA), and their various mixtures was assessed by the in vitro micronucleus assay on CHO-K1 cells.
Results demonstrated that the cytogenetic potentials of pesticides greatly depended on their physico-chemical environment. The mixture made with the four pesticides exhibited the most potent cytogenetic toxicity, which was 20-fold higher than those of the most active compound AMPA, and 100-fold increased after light-irradiation. Intracellular ROS assessment suggested the involvement of oxidative stress in the genotoxic impact of pesticides and pesticide mixtures.
This study established that enhanced cytogenetic activities could be observed in pesticide mixtures containing glyphosate, atrazine, and their degradation products AMPA and DEA. It highlighted the importance of cocktail effects in environmental matrices, and pointed out the limits of usual testing strategies based on individual molecules, to efficiently estimate environmental risks.
