Truth-teller, quantum physicist, heroine, wisdom woman, life saver…

Please watch this short (10 minute) video clip of her being interviewed on GritTV, and if you have time, the longer one from Bill Moyers, to learn more about the very important issues surrounding the corporate control of our global food supply. There are many great interviews available online, and it’s hard to choose or remember which might be the “best”. Here are three that  I have stumbled across again during the past week as I have been thinking of  posting something to honour her and her work. Her book “Stolen Harvest” changed my life’s direction and goals many years ago.

Read Dr. Vandana Shiva’s brilliant address to the Samdrup Jongkhar Initiative Launch on organic vs chemical agriculture and her answers to farmer’s questions.

Vandana Shiva on the Problem with Genetically Modified Seeds

A great article from my files, one from July 2009:

Vandana Shiva on Gandhi for Today’s World

Some say terrorism makes Gandhi irrelevant. Vandana Shiva, farmer, seed saver, and global justice activist, says we need him more than ever….

Making Peace With The Earth

“Capitalist Patriarchy Has Aggravated Violence Against Women”

I’m here in Los Angeles to address a conference on International Women’s Day on global ecologies, on how globalization, shaped by a very patriarchal mindset, a capitalist, patriarchal mindset, has actually aggravated the violence against women, that we are living in a very violent economic order to which war has become essential—war against the earth, war against women’s bodies, war against local economies and war against democracy. And I think we need to see the connections between all these forms of violence, which impact women most. Whether it’s climate change or biodiversity erosion or seed monopolies, all of it is connected. It’s one piece.
