It’s Not Personal, It’s The Chemicals #2

The images in the 1st It’s Not Personal, It’s The Chemicals  were so popular, I decided to make more while my brain was functioning in this mode. Here are a couple that were very well received on facebook, plus a few new ones featuring children and office workers, as they too are being impacted by what we choose to use and put in the air.

It’s Not Personal, It’s The Chemicals

offended

Have you ever noticed how some people get offended when we are disabled by, or get sick from something in the products they’ve used?

What’s up with that?

???

What about those who feign disbelief that we could be harmed by something they are using? Or that they could be using something that is harmful?

disbelief

While I am not up to delving into the psychological and emotional intricacies of those responses here, or how industry pays big money to create them, I did come up with a few simple images with variations of the following text:

It’s not you! It’s not personal! It’s the chemicals!

Fragrances, personal care, and laundry products
contain toxic chemicals that make it impossible
for some people to be around those who use them.

Air Cleaners, Filters, and Purifiers

Many of us have to breathe to stay alive. Okay, all of us have to breathe to stay alive. Some of us just need cleaner air than others, or our ability to think and function is severely impaired from inhaling common pollutants found in both outdoor and indoor air.

This is where air purifiers and filtration devices come in.

Here are links to a few good documents and websites to read before you spend any money, that discuss what to look for and what to avoid:

Safer Plastic Symbols Surprise!

What if all the articles about safer plastics for foods and beverages were actually mistaken about these materials being safe around anything meant to be swallowed?

You know, the ones that say to avoid using containers with some symbols on the bottom, but those with other symbols are safe to use with your foods and drinks?

Like this one:

Plastics Safe or Harmful

HCHW_KnowPlastics900x1800_final

Guess what?

“The Society of the Plastics Industry (SPI) introduced its resin coding system in order to identify the various resins found in plastic bottles and rigid containers and to make sorting and recycling plastic bottles and containers easier for recyclers in Canada.

The code has no other purpose.

Despite the similarity in appearance between the SPI symbols and the Mobius loop, the presence of an SPI code does not indicate that the product is recyclable or is recycled locally.

Nor is it meant as a guide for safe use for food or beverage contact, or as an indicator of the intended use of the bottle or container…”

But that’s not all…

“According to a new study by the Food Packaging Forum, 175 chemicals with known hazardous properties are legally used in the production of food contact packaging in Europe and the U.S.”

50% of US Population Breathes Unhealthy Air!

Outrageous!

“Nearly 150 million people, roughly half of the population in the United States, currently live in areas with unhealthy levels of air pollution that is linked to serious health impacts, such as asthma attacks, lung cancer, heart attacks, strokes and even death. Children are particularly susceptible to the health effects of air pollution because their lungs are still developing. Air pollution also disproportionately impacts vulnerable populations already burdened with chronic diseases such as asthma, heart disease and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Scientists warn that the buildup of carbon pollution in the atmosphere leads to warmer temperatures worsening the conditions for ozone formation in some places, and making it harder to achieve healthy air for all.”

We Share the Air Canary

Choose fragrance-free products. Clean air is fragrance-chemical-free. Fragrance chemicals create an invisible barrier to access for people who are disabled by pollutants and can cause health harm to everyone who breathes.

We share the air! Help keep it clean!

Proof: Pesticides Are MORE Toxic Than Declared!

‘Cides are designed to kill. Only the so-called “active” ingredients are listed and tested for how well they kill what they are sold to kill. Human, animal and other environmental effects are rarely if ever researched, and then it’s only for the active ingredients. The combinations of ingredients and the so-called “inert” ingredients which make the products flow or apply better are not taken into consideration. Those “inerts” can also be more toxic than the active ingredients, but don’t have to be listed!

Recent research tested and discovered that these combinations can be up to
1000 times more toxic than declared!
